Manchester City Keep Domestic Double Hopes Alive with FA Cup Semifinal Victory

Guardiola's Side Secures 1-0 Win Against Chelsea

Bernardo Silva's Late Goal Proves Decisive

Bernardo Silva's late goal has ensured Manchester City's hopes of retaining the domestic double remain intact after Pep Guardiola's side secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals. The Portuguese midfielder struck in the 70th minute, firing home from close range after a scramble in the box, to send City into the final at Wembley Stadium next month.

The victory was a welcome boost for City, who had suffered a disappointing 3-3 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals just days before. Despite dominating possession for much of the game, City struggled to break down a well-organized Chelsea defense led by goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Guardiola, speaking after the match, admitted that his team had not been at their best but praised their resilience. "We didn't play our best today, but we showed great character and determination to get the win," he said. "Chelsea defended very well, but we kept believing and eventually got the goal we deserved."

City will now face either Arsenal or Liverpool in the FA Cup final on May 27th. The victory over Chelsea also means Guardiola's side remains in contention for a quadruple, having already won the Carabao Cup this season and still chasing glory in the Premier League and Champions League.
