Zverev Reaches Fourth French Open Semi-Final
German Star Keeps Title Hopes Alive
Alexander Zverev of Germany has reached the semi-finals of the French Open for the fourth time, keeping his bid for an elusive first grand slam title alive. The 26-year-old defeated Alex de Minaur of Australia 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-4 in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Zverev, who is the third seed at Roland Garros, will face either Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals. He has never reached the final of a grand slam before, but he is in good form this year and will be confident of his chances of going all the way.
De Minaur, who was the 19th seed, put up a good fight but was ultimately no match for Zverev. The Australian had won their previous two meetings, but Zverev was too strong on this occasion.
