Massive Cyberattack Hits German Airports, Other Websites
German authorities and businesses have been targeted by hackers in a widespread attack, suspected to be Russian retaliation.
The cyberattack may have caused the outage of websites at several German airports. At Berlin's BER Airport, 113 flights were canceled on Friday due to the IT disruption.
The attack has also disrupted IT systems worldwide, with reports of problems at airports, banks, TV stations, and supermarkets, including in Germany. The source of the disruptions appears to be linked to Microsoft software.
In Berlin, the Reuters news agency reported that the websites of seven German airports were affected by a suspected cyberattack on Thursday.
