The Philadelphia Phillies pulled off a dramatic 6-5 victory over the Houston Astros in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday night.
The Phillies took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Bryce Harper. They extended their lead to 3-0 in the third inning on an RBI single by Kyle Schwarber.
The Astros battled back to tie the game 3-3 in the fifth inning on a three-run homer by Yordan Alvarez. Yordan Alvarez went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
The game remained tied until the 10th inning, when J.T. Realmuto hit a solo home run to give the Phillies a 4-3 lead. Kyle Tucker later hit a two-run homer to put the Astros back on top 5-4.
The Phillies then rallied in the bottom of the 10th inning to win the game. Brandon Marsh drew a one-out walk, and Bryce Harper singled to put runners on first and second. Nick Castellanos then hit a game-winning single to score Marsh.

- Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. allowed three runs on six hits over 5.0 innings.

The Phillies are now one win away from taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. The Astros, meanwhile, will need to win Game 2 to avoid falling behind 0-2.
